Attorney Dr. Roy Bar-Kahn has been wearing “three hats” for about three decades (member of the Bar Association since 1994).
In his first “hat”, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn has many years of experience in legal practice:
(a) Representation in court of law (litigation) in thousands of appearances in all courts (supreme, district, magistrate, labor, real estate courts and arbitration procedures), while representing hundreds of regular and occasional clients in all areas of civil-commercial law. His regular clients include public companies, one of the largest insurance company, the largest municipal council in Israel, and he also has a special certification to represent the State of Israel alongside the state attorney. His regular clients include a large number of well-known and leading companies in the fields of industry, commerce, IT and computing, energy, retail and tourism. Among other things, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn handled and handles up until today in various types of contractual disputes, derivative claims, class action claims, control struggles and shareholder disputes in corporations and joint ventures, procedures concerning the liability of office bearers, veil lifting, valuations of companies, disputes between partners in real estate, procedures related to apartments’ sales, BOT agreements, tenders, veil lifting and collection regarding property taxes and municipal taxation, intellectual property, insolvency and creditor arrangements, agency and distribution agreements and class actions. Attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn has special expertise in the fields of banking and guarantees, and he was responsible for a large number of precedents and case law in the field.
(b) Business consulting and commercial transactions – in this framework, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn regularly accompanies CEOs and directors of dozens of companies (public and private), and has handled hundreds of transactions, in various areas of civil law. Among other things, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn handled and completed acquisitions of companies and acquisitions of business activities in a scale of hundreds of millions of Shekels, mergers, investments, establishment of joint ventures, partnerships and companies in various fields, investment agreements, agency and distribution agreements, franchise agreements, labor agreements and real estate transactions ( National Outline Plan / Combination ventures / Financing transactions / Bank loans).
In his second “hat”, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn serves as an official representative on behalf of the court and other official institutions – a liquidator, a trustee in a stay of proceedings and creditor settlements, (former) chairman of the property tax and compensation fund appeals committee, a mediator and an arbitrator on an ongoing basis In The Israeli Institution of Commercial Arbitration (The Union of Chambers of Commerce)
In his third “hat”, attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn is an outstanding academic lecturer in the fields of civil and commercial law in almost every well-known academic and legal economic forum: (a) at the various law faculties in Israel (Tel Aviv, Bar-Ilan and Reichman Universities, and The College of Management). Attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn has been managing the courses of banking law, guarantee law, corporation law, legal methods, Law of Agency, means of payment and collateral; (b) in the various legal institutes – Institute of Advanced Judicial Studies, the “Midrasha”, The Institute of the Courts Administration for the Training of Senior Law Clerks, The Institute Of Legal Training Of Attorneys and Advisers, the Commercial Law Center of Bar-Ilan University, the Banking Supervision Department, the Central Legal Counsel Department of Bank Hapoalim and Discount Bank and the various district committees of the Bar Association in Jerusalem, Nazareth, Haifa and Be’er Sheva.
The combination of these three “hats” guarantees that the clients of Attorney Dr. Bar-Kahn will be provided with optimal and unique representation, based on a long-standing reputation and excellent interpersonal relationships for the purpose of understanding the client’s needs, and embodies a combination of legal excellence and creativity with rich experience in litigation and commercial.
